Kanter's double-double lands him Player of the Week award

30-year old Turkish power forward Kerem Kanter (208-F/C-1995) put on an amazing game in the last round for Seoul Samsung Thunders and receives a Hoops Agents Player of the Week award for round 37.
He had a double-double of 35 points and 16 rebounds, while his team crushed Daegu (#10, 12-29) with 16-point margin 87-71. The game rather meaningless between the teams, which do not have any influence on top of the standings. Samsung Thunders is placed at 9th position in South Korean league. Seoul Thunders is currently ranked second from the bottom. They need more victories to improve their 13-28 record. In the team's last game Kanter had a remarkable 52.9% from 2-point range. He turned to be Samsung Thunders' top player in his first season with the team. Xavier University graduate has very impressive stats this year. Kanter is in league's top in rebounds (8th best: 7.9rpg) and averages solid 54.4% FGP.

Second best performed player last round was Shawn Long (208-F-1993, agency: Pensack Sports) of Busan KCC Egis. He is American forward in his first season at KCC Egis. In the last game Long recorded an impressive double-double of 25 points and 11 rebounds. Of course Egis cruised to a 88-76 relatively comfortable win over the lower-ranked Daegu (#10, 12-29). KCC Egis' 5th position in the standings has not changed. His team lost some distance to top teams. But a 21-20 record is not bad and everything may still change. Long is a newcomer at KCC Egis and quickly became one of team's most reliable players. He belongs to the best scorers in the league with 19.5ppg (#4). He also registered 13.2 boards per game.

Third place about best performers goes to forward Nathan Knight (208-F/C-1997) of Sono Skygunners (#7). Knight scored 28 points and grabbed 23 rebounds (!!!). He was a key player of Skygunners, leading his team to a 87-76 win against slightly lower-ranked Mobis Phoebus (#8, 15-26). The chances of Sono SG ranking at the top of the league, however are very questionable as they have already lost 23 games, recording just eighteen victories. With bigger assistance of his teammates, Knight could help Sono SG to bring them higher in the standings. Knight has a great season in South Korea. After 41 games, he made it on the list of the league's leaders in points with 18.1ppg (8th best) and rebounds with 11.6rpg (3rd best). He also has 1.0bpg and a FGP of 54.3%.
